Frequently Asked Questions
What is The Hope Gallery?
The Hope Gallery aims to make fundraising fun and easy through an innovative and artistic digital experience.
Our solution is a participative platform of artwork revelation: an artist decides to support a NGO by creating a unique and never-before-seen work of art (painting, photograph, illustration, and so on). The art is then digitised and pixelated on our online gallery. For every euro, pound or dollar donated, a pixel of the art is revealed. Once all the pixels are purchased, the art is uncovered and the sum of the funds collected go to the nonprofit chosen by the artist.
A pixel is later drawn at random and its owner, the person whose donation revealed it, wins the original artwork.
During the fundraiser, signed copies of the art are for sale on the online shop. The profits from these sales are shared with the artist and the organisation.
Why should I participate in a fundraiser by The Hope Gallery?
By taking part in this digital experience, you'll be supporting not only the nonprofit benefiting from your donation, but our initiative here at The Hope Gallery. We'd love to hear your thoughts and views on the project, don't hesitate to share them with us by emailing [email protected]
What does this operation consist of?
French photographer Nicolas Comment has offered a unique photograph to The Hope Gallery in order to raise € 2,000 to fight against substandard housing by supporting the Abbé Pierre Foundation.
What will the donations be used for?
All donations go to the association, foundation or NGO benefiting from the operation in support of a specific action. This action is detailed on the fundraising page.
How can I make a donation?
You just have to follow the steps! To make your donation, your credit card is enough, and the payment is secured through Stripe. The association benefiting from the operation receives your donation directly, with no other third-party.
Can I have a tax receipt?
By participating in The Hope Gallery, you can benefit from a tax deduction of up to 75% of the amount of your donation, up to a limit of 20% of your taxable income. However, only the association benefiting from the operation is authorized to issue a tax receipt. If exceptionally she did not wish or could not, this possibility will not be offered to you during the donation process.
How can I win the art revealed?
To try to win the artist's original work, just make a donation. At the end of the fundraiser, a pixel will be randomly drawn and the one who has revealed it will win, either the original or an exclusive reproduction, as indicated on the fundraising process. Of course, the more pixels you reveal, the more likely you are to be drawn!
As part of the Don Mateo x Entrepreneurs du Monde campaign, The Hope Gallery makes it possible, at every 3,000 euros collected, to win a hand-enhanced screenprint, as well as the original work when the fundraiser is complete.
Can I buy the unveiled art?
Throughout the fundraising process, signed and numbered reproductions of the work are also available for sale on our online store. To reward your curiosity, The Hope Gallery allows you to benefit from exclusive offers (discount or pixels offered) while the work is still unveiling. At the end of the fundraiser, the remaining copies are available in our shop. The profits from these sales are shared with the artist and the association.
When does the fundraiser end?
Each fundraiser ends when all the pixels are revealed. However, an end date can be specified on the revelation’s home page.
What happens if all the pixels are not revealed by the fundraiser end date?
All donations made after fundraiser end date continue to go to the association, which will use them to finance part of the action defined on the revelation page.
All the "pixels" are revealed. Can we still participate?
Once all the pixels have been revealed, it is still possible to participate in the draw to win the artist's work if the artwork isn't fully revelead yet! As long as you're able to make a payment, you will have a chance to win :)
How does The Hope Gallery finance itself?
100% of the donations that reveal the pixels of the artist's work go directly to financing the nonprofit in question. To finance the development of our platform, its operation and communication, The Hope Gallery sells signed copies of the works on its online shop. Profits from these sales are shared with the artist and the association.
