What is The Hope Gallery?
The Hope Gallery aims to make fundraising fun and easy through an innovative and artistic digital experience.
Our solution is a participative platform of artwork revelation: an artist decides to support a NGO and in order to do so, creates a unique and never displayed work of art (painting, photograph, illustration ...). Digitized but hidden in our online gallery, everyone is invited to make a donation. For every euro donated, a pixel gets revealed. Once all of the "pixels" have been purchased, the work is exposed both online and in a museum or gallery, and 100% of the funds collected are donated to an nonprofit organization or NGO chosen by the artist. A pixel is later drawn and its owner wins a signed & numbered reproduction of the work.
At the end of the fundraising, the unveiled work is offered for sale, as well as its reproductions (including screenprints) on the online store of The Hope Gallery. The profits from these sales are shared with the artist and the organization.
When will the next event take place?
The next event will take place on Thursday, March 21st, 2019 from 6pm at the Poltred Gallery in Lyon. During the evening, Nicolas Comment will offer a signing session of his new book. In parallel, The Hope Gallery's team will also accept the final donations for the Abbé Pierre Foundation's fundraising and draw the lucky winner of the photograph's print.
What will the donations be used for?
All funds will be donated to the Abbé Pierre Foundation to support their actions against sudstandard housing, a social priority to Nicolas Comment.
How can I make a donation?
You just have to click on the operation Nicolas Comment x Fondation Abbé Pierre and follow the steps. To make the donation, you can use PayPal or your credit card with the secure solution Stripe.
How can I win the Nicolas Comment photograph?
To win the photograph offered by Nicolas Comment, you have to participate in the fundraising for the Abbé Pierre Foundation. After the artwork is revealed, a donor will be drawn to win the signed and numbered (1/7 ) edition. Each euro is attached and reveals a pixel of the work so the larger the amount donated, the more likely a donor is to win.
Can I buy the photograph of Nicolas Comment?
At the end of the fundraising operation on March 21, 2019, 30 copies of the unveiled photograph will be available for sale in 13x18cm format on The Hope Gallery's online store. The original format prints (40x60cm) will go on sale on September at the next vernissage of Nicolas Comment.
When does this operation end?
The operation Nicolas Comment X Abbé Pierre Foundation will end on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the Poltred Gallery in Lyon (54 Cours de la Liberté). On this occasion, Nicolas Comment will propose a signing session of his new book, the last donations will be collected (if however there are still "pixels" to reveal!), and the photograph will be unveiled. Finally, the lucky winner of the 1/7 edition of the photograph will be drawn.
All the "pixels" are revealed. Can we still participate?
Once the set of "pixels" revealed, it is no longer possible to participate in the draw to win the 1/7 edition of the photograph. On the other hand, you can always make a donation to the Abbé Pierre Foundation by buying a print in our online shop (one-third of the proceeds will be donated to the Foundation) or directly on the Foundation's website. By subscribing to our newsletter, you will also be informed of our next collab and fundraising, in which you are of course invited to participate in.
How does The Hope Gallery finance itself?
100% of the donations which allowed the revelation of the "pixels" of Nicolas Comment's photography are donated to the Abbé Pierre Foundation. To finance itself, The Hope Gallery collects a commission on the sale of the 30 numbered prints (13/18cm format) sold on The Hope Gallery online store, set at one third of the price. This commission helps finance the development of the platform, its operation and the communication around operations.
How to be sure that the money collected is donated to the Abbé Pierre Foundation?
At the end of the Nicolas Comment's fundraising operation, the Abbé Pierre Foundation will present a donation certificate to The Hope Gallery. A copy of this certificate can be requested by email at [email protected]
